Following an event of raw chicken being served in the main dining hall, Sodexo is offering an explanation and revised quality oversight.

The chicken, meant to be served in the Original Burger Company, was served in the main dining hall, which resulted in improper treatment of the food, according to an email from Sodexo.

The new action plan involves the following:

  • Removal of the breaded chicken, and replacing it with fully cooked chicken

  • Personnel movement/changes

  • Retraining of all employees, including food preparation, production, service delivery and quality assurance

  • Further engagement with students, including table side interaction with students.

Carrie Petr, vice president of Student Affairs, described the event as an “unacceptable trend”, and says that “(Doane’s Administration) will be monitoring the results closely.”

This comes after several incidents of under cooked chicken last year.
